Mubadala Capital Tokenizes Fund on Multiple Blockchains with Coinbase Support
Mubadala Capital, the alternative asset management arm of Abu Dhabi's Mubadala Investment Company, has made a significant move into blockchain technology. The company tokenized its Alternative Solutions Fund, which drew $75 million onchain as of July 23, 2026.
The fund now runs on Coinbase's Base network, along with Solana and Sui, and related share classes appear on Ethereum, Avalanche, Polygon, and Sei. Access remains limited to qualified institutional and accredited investors, with a minimum investment around $100,000.
UAE-based infrastructure provider KAIO handles issuance and administration, and its platform now supports roughly $144 million in tokenized funds overall. Coinbase took a direct balance sheet stake in the fund, an early case of a public crypto firm backing a tokenized fund.
