MultiCoin Continues to Scale Back Hype Holdings Amid Ongoing Market Optimism
MultiCoin Capital, a well-known investment firm in the crypto space, has continued to reduce its position in HYPE. According to Arkham, a blockchain intelligence platform, MultiCoin sold roughly another 10% of its $HYPE holdings, leaving it with approximately $90.5 million worth of the token.
This sale is part of an ongoing trend for MultiCoin, which has been gradually reducing its peak position in HYPE since February and March when it accumulated around 4 million tokens. As of now, its current holding stands at slightly more than one-quarter of that amount, with nearly 75% of the peak position sold.
The investment firm's decision to make a direct investment into the Hyperliquid ecosystem in July may have contributed to its continued interest in HYPE. In fact, MultiCoin invested $1.75 million in Trasia Labs, an Asia-focused perpetual futures platform built on Hyperliquid, and was the sole investor in the seed round.
The token's momentum has been impressive lately, with HYPE making a debut within Hashdex’s Nasdaq CME Crypto Index ETF (NCIQ) as its fifth-largest holding behind Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, and Solana. This inclusion makes $HYPE more accessible to U.S. investors, who can now buy into the token through Coinbase.
