Multicoin Exits $1.65B Solana Treasury Company

Multicoin Capital has exited its stake in Forward Industries, the largest Solana treasury company. The crypto investment firm was one of the three lead investors behind the $1.65 billion financing that launched Forward's Solana strategy in September.

Multicoin had a significant position in Forward, with its co-founder Kyle Samani serving as chairman. However, the firm has now unwound its stake, transferring most of its shares to an entity controlled by Samani.

The exit is notable because Multicoin built much of its reputation on its early conviction in Solana, becoming one of the blockchain's most prominent institutional backers. Despite this, Multicoin executives have continued to express a bullish view on Solana, arguing that it will outperform the broader crypto market.

Forward Industries has not been affected by Multicoin's exit, continuing to add to its Solana holdings and pursuing diversified sources of yield. The company's Chief Investment Officer Ryan Navi said it is evaluating acquisitions that could expand both its treasury and its role within the Solana ecosystem.
