Multicoin Trims Another 10% from HYPE Holdings
Financial news has emerged that Multicoin Capital has continued to trim its holdings in HYPE, the native token of the Hyperliquid ecosystem. According to blockchain intelligence platform Arkham, the investment firm has sold approximately another 10% of its HYPE position, leaving it with around $90.5 million worth of the asset.
This sale marks the latest development in Multicoin's ongoing reduction of its HYPE holdings, which have been steadily decreasing since their peak in February and March when the firm accumulated roughly 4 million HYPE. The current holdings now represent slightly more than one-quarter of that amount.
Multicoin has sold nearly 75% of its peak position in HYPE, which raises questions about the firm's confidence in the token's long-term prospects. However, it's worth noting that Multicoin did invest $1.75 million in Trasia Labs, an Asia-focused perpetual futures platform built on Hyperliquid, in July.
HYPE has been gaining momentum recently, with its inclusion in Hashdex’s Nasdaq CME Crypto Index ETF (NCIQ) and the listing of Hyperliquid for trading on Coinbase. This increased accessibility to U.S. investors may be contributing to the token's growing popularity.
