Musk Touts xAI's Grok 5 as Potential Breakthrough to AGI

Elon Musk, CEO of xAI, has made a bold claim that Grok 5 will be the company's first model to achieve artificial general intelligence (AGI). This prediction comes as the current Grok 4.8 model nears completion of its foundational training phase, with 2.5 trillion parameters and an entirely new C++ infrastructure.

Grok 4.8 is expected to enter reinforcement learning stages soon, where iterative feedback mechanisms will refine performance. Musk stated that while Grok 4.7 matches Anthropic's Opus 5 in overall capability, 'That will be Grok 5.'

The company has accelerated development by leveraging massive computational resources and integrating live data streams from X, with engineering expertise from SpaceX operations.
