Musk's Potential Merge Would Create One of World's Largest Corporate Bitcoin Holders
Speculation is building around a potential merger between Tesla and SpaceX, two companies led by Elon Musk. A combined entity would control roughly 30,221 Bitcoin (BTC), making it one of the top five public corporate holders globally.
Tesla currently holds 11,509 BTC on its balance sheet, while SpaceX's IPO filing showed 18,712 BTC. Together, they would have a total of $2.1 billion in Bitcoin at current prices.
Early investor Peter Diamandis told Bloomberg that a merger is 'a matter of when, not if', citing Musk's desire for greater voting control and operational integration.
Diamandis spoke with Musk on the topic in January and March this year, saying it would give Musk the ability to operate across all infrastructure, including Cybercab robotaxis and Tesla vehicles.
