The meme coin Jimothy The Raccoon (JIMOTHY) surged by an impressive 331% in value on August 7, after Elon Musk posted a viral raccoon video on X. Despite Musk not mentioning JIMOTHY in his post, the token's price skyrocketed within hours.

JIMOTHY was launched in July 2026 as a meme coin on the Solana (SOL) blockchain, and its value has been highly volatile ever since. In fact, after launching, JIMOTHY's price grew by about 52 times when the raccoon story went viral, and it even saw another spike after the White House account mentioned the animal.
