Mysterious Wallet Burns Millions Through Crypto Custodian

A mysterious Bitcoin wallet has been burning millions of dollars' worth of BTC through a large crypto custodian. In March, $1 million in BTC was sent to and from the same wallet through this custodian, with almost exactly the same amount coming back.

Seven weeks later, the entire balance of 20.00010537 BTC was deliberately destroyed, leaving behind no trail of what happened to it.

The wallet had been dormant for nearly 12 years before suddenly springing back to life. Blockchain analysis shows that five wallets involved in similar actions appear to have been controlled by the same person, likely an early Bitcoin holder who had funds on the collapsed Mt. Gox exchange.
