Mystery Code Cracked: Bitcoin Enthusiasts Compete for Wallet Key
A mystery code hidden on the Bitcoin blockchain has been cracked by an unknown cryptographer. The puzzle, embedded in block 963,629, uses data from the Genesis Block to generate a wallet key.
The code was discovered by Galaxy Research analysts and contains a 255-byte text message that occupies more than half of the transaction's physical size. Despite its large size, the operation cost only pennies with a miner fee of just 250 satoshis (0.60 sat/vB).
The puzzle uses information from the Genesis Block mined by Satoshi Nakamoto in 2009 to generate the wallet key. The entropy is extremely low, meaning that the range for guessing the private key has been deliberately narrowed.
