Nacha Tackles Stablecoins and Tokenized Deposits in New Initiative
Nacha, the ACH network operator, has launched a new initiative to explore the use of stablecoins and tokenized deposits for money movement. The Next-Gen Currency Project Team will be led by Nacha and the Digital Sovereignty Alliance, which aims to bridge the divide between digital assets and traditional payment methods.
The project team's co-leader, Molly Woodman, senior policy advisor for the Digital Sovereignty Alliance, noted that 'digital assets are still new, and the more educational resources available to the payments industry, the better.'
Nacha President and CEO Jane Larimer emphasized the importance of understanding the potential implications of digital assets on all types of payments, as well as tracking regulatory developments.
