Nailwal Launches Crypto Campaign for Nepal Glacier Collapse Relief
Nepal is reeling from the devastating effects of a glacier collapse on August 26, which has left over 1,250 people dead and thousands missing. Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal has launched a stablecoin donations campaign to support the relief efforts.
The initiative allows donors worldwide to contribute to the Nepal Relief Fund through nepalrelief.org, with $168,176 raised as of September 4. The funds will be collected on-chain and converted into USDC before being pooled in a public relief wallet on Ethereum or Polygon.
The campaign has received a commitment of $100,000 from Blockchain For Impact. Donors can contribute anonymously using any token on any network or verify their identity through Coinme to attach their name to the donation.
