Nakamoto CEO Defends Corporate Bitcoin Adoption as Key to Hyperbitcoinization
Nakamoto Inc. Chairman and CEO David Bailey disputes the notion that corporate involvement in Bitcoin represents a betrayal of its original vision, arguing that it's essential for hyperbitcoinization to occur.
Bailey made these comments during a fireside chat at Bitcoin Asia 2026, emphasizing that companies providing everyday products and services must participate in Bitcoin adoption for it to spread across the wider economy.
He believes that the next phase for Bitcoin treasury companies could involve owning more operating businesses rather than relying only on Bitcoin holdings and financial engineering, stating, 'We're going to see more people acquire and do more M&A with operating companies.'
Bailey added that several of Nakamoto's portfolio companies are already working on deals, which may yield results in the second half of this year. The company aims to build businesses that generate cash, as their operating performance is something management can control.
