NANO Nuclear Energy Wins U.S. Air Force SBIR Contract for KRONOS MMR Energy System
NANO Nuclear Energy (NNE) shares jumped 4% on Monday after the company was awarded a U.S. Air Force SBIR Phase I contract.
The agreement focuses on NANO Nuclear's KRONOS MMR energy system, which is designed to tackle energy security concerns across Department of the Air Force operations.
Awarded by AFWERX, the Air Force's innovation division, the contract has a commencement date of July 21, 2026, and will address Department of the Air Force energy needs.
NANO Nuclear CEO James Walker noted that the contract represents 'another meaningful step' in advancing the company's defense sector commercialization objectives.
