Nasdaq Commits $100M to Tokenized Equities Push
Nasdaq is investing $100 million in Payward, the parent company of Kraken, as part of a joint effort to develop tokenized equities. The partnership aims to create a bridge between traditional finance and on-chain markets.
The initiative, known as Nasdaq Equity Tokens (NET), will allow investors to hold shares of companies in digital form. This is a significant step towards mainstream adoption of blockchain-based capital markets.
Nasdaq's goal is to create a regulated infrastructure for tokenized equities that preserves issuer control and existing regulatory protections.
