Nasdaq Deadline Looms for DeFi Technologies Amidst Record Profits
DeFi Technologies' financials paint a picture of success, but its stock price has been plummeting. Despite generating $62.7 million in net profit last year and holding $156 million in cash and digital assets, the company's shares have shed nearly 87 percent of their value over twelve months.
The discrepancy between earnings and equity price is a defining feature of this Toronto-based crypto finance firm. Revenue hit a record $99.1 million in 2025, with net income reaching $62.7 million. The Valour subsidiary saw its management fees jump 51 percent to $9.7 million.
However, the stock's slide continues, with shares dropping 7.86 percent on a weekly basis and 22.88 percent monthly. The 50-day moving average of €0.4748 sits 27.89 percent above Friday's close, while the 200-day average of €0.7535 is a staggering 54.56 percent higher.
The company has been granted a 180-day cure period by Nasdaq to regain compliance with its listing requirements. To meet this deadline, DeFi Technologies must close at or above $1 for ten consecutive trading days. The real pressure comes from the exchange's notice on March 5, 2026, that its closing price had stayed below the $1 minimum for 30 consecutive trading days.
The technical picture offers little comfort, with an annualized 30-day volatility of 53.06 percent suggesting any recovery attempt will be choppy rather than smooth. The stock is trading 27.89 percent below its 50-day moving average and 54.56 percent below its 200-day average.
