Nasdaq Doubles Down on Tokenization with $100M Payward Investment

Share

Nasdaq has made a significant investment in Payward, the parent company of cryptocurrency exchange Kraken. The tech giant invested US$100 million through its venture arm to support the continued evolution of tokenized market infrastructure.

The partnership between Nasdaq and Payward was announced in March, with plans for Kraken to distribute Nasdaq's tokenized stocks directly on its platform. This investment aims to expand their relationship and build the infrastructure needed for 24/7 trading.

Tal Cohen, President of Nasdaq, stated that 'the next era of market evolution will be defined by how efficiently and seamlessly capital and assets move across the financial system with durable liquidity.'
