Nasdaq Extends Trading Hours to Crypto-Inspired Schedule
Nasdaq is planning to expand its trading hours from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. ET, pending approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and completion of additional technical requirements. This move is expected to start in December 2026.
According to BitGo CEO Mike Belshe and analyst Nate Geraci, this shift reflects traditional markets adopting practices pioneered by crypto exchanges, such as CEXs. They believe that this development could validate crypto exchange models and boost adoption of cryptocurrencies and integration into the market structure.
