Nasdaq Invests $100M in Kraken Parent Payward Amid Tokenized Stock Plans
Nasdaq's venture arm has agreed to invest $100 million in Payward, the parent company of Kraken. The investment values Payward at a staggering $21 billion.
The deal deepens a partnership between Nasdaq and Payward, which aims to build, distribute, and trade tokenized stocks. The goal is to launch these tokens by second-quarter 2027.
Payward will also adopt Nasdaq's market surveillance technology across its crypto, equities, tokenized equities, futures, and options venues.
