Nasdaq Invests Big in Kraken's Parent Company
Nasdaq has made a significant investment in Payward, the parent company of cryptocurrency exchange Kraken. The investment totals $100 million and values Payward at $21 billion, according to Bloomberg.
The investment is part of a deeper strategic partnership between Nasdaq and Payward, established in March. This collaboration aims to accelerate next-generation market infrastructure for trading, settlement, and custody of tokenized equities.
Nasdaq's involvement in blockchain-based financial infrastructure has been expanding, with this investment further strengthening its presence in the space. For Payward, the investment supports its expansion into tokenized markets.
