Nasdaq Rolls Out 23-Hour Trading Schedule in Bid to Close Equity-Crypto Gap
Nasdaq's new 23-hour stock trading schedule will start on December 6th, allowing for overnight trading from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. Eastern Time.
This move is aimed at providing broader access and narrowing the operating-hours gap between equities and continuously traded crypto markets.
Nasdaq has not said that stocks will trade on crypto blockchains under this rollout, but rather it remains part of the regulated Nasdaq Stock Market infrastructure.
The new session will retain a daily maintenance pause and existing regular session, with orders outstanding at 4 a.m. being canceled before the morning session begins.
