Nasdaq Texas Proposes Rule Change to Include XRP in New ETF Standards
A proposed rule change filed by Nasdaq Texas with the SEC on August 20 has sparked interest in the crypto community. According to an alleged unpublished document, the new listing standards would explicitly name XRP alongside Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and Litecoin as eligible commodities for a new class of exchange-traded products.
The proposed changes aim to introduce a formal definition for 'digital commodity' and permit actively managed strategies within these products. Additionally, up to 15% of a trust's net asset value could consist of assets that don't meet standard eligibility criteria.
The alleged document shows an example scenario where a Commodity-Based Trust Share holds 95% of its net asset value in the aforementioned cryptocurrencies, including XRP. However, other mainstream outlets have not independently confirmed the contents or authenticity of the filing excerpts as presented.
