Nasdaq Unveils 23-Hour Stock Trading Schedule to Bridge Equity-Crypto Gap
Nasdaq has announced plans to introduce a 23-hour stock trading schedule, with overnight trading running from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. This move aims to narrow the operating-hours gap between equities and continuously traded crypto markets.
The new Night Session will allow for extended trading hours, but it's essential to note that Nasdaq will retain a daily maintenance break and existing U.S. securities-market infrastructure.
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approved Nasdaq's 23-hour trading rule on April 10, 2026, removing a regulatory barrier before the December rollout.
