Naver-Dunamu Deal Gets Green Light as Panel Urges Looser Crypto Shareholder Rule

Share

Naver and Dunamu's proposed share swap deal has received a boost after the presidential Regulatory Reform Committee recommended adding exemptions to major-shareholder eligibility reviews in the revised Special Financial Transactions Act enforcement decree.

The committee argued that uniformly rejecting filings by virtual-asset businesses without considering the severity of legal violations could be an excessive restriction relative to the purpose of the regulation.

Naver and Dunamu plan to hold a shareholders meeting on November 19 to approve the transaction, with the share-swap date set for December 31.
