Nawrocki Blocks Polish Crypto Bill for Third Time Amid Zondacrypto Investigation

Poland's Sejm failed to override President Karol Nawrocki's third veto of a crypto regulation bill, falling short by 25 votes. The legislation aimed to place Poland's crypto market under the supervision of the KNF, aligning with the EU's MiCA regulation.

Nawrocki had previously rejected the bill twice, citing concerns that it could impose excessive burdens on Polish crypto companies and encourage them to operate from other jurisdictions.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk urged lawmakers to support the bill, referencing an investigation into the defunct Zondacrypto exchange, which implicated former Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobro in allegedly promising to stop the case in exchange for compensation.
