Nazarov's White House Visit Ignites Chainlink Buzz
Chainlink, an important player in the decentralized finance (DeFi) space, has been making waves lately. At a recent White House appearance, Chainlink co-founder Sergey Nazarov spoke about the GENIUS Act and its potential to make stablecoins more accessible to a wider audience.
Nazarov mentioned that the growing use of U.S. government debt in stablecoin reserves could lead to dollar-backed digital assets being used by more people. He also predicted that tokenized stocks will follow a similar path, with Chainlink already providing infrastructure for many applications in this space.
In related news, Ethereum infrastructure firm Nethermind announced it is joining Chainlink as a node operator, which will help secure the platform's CCIP and Data Feeds. While this move was described by CEO Daniel Celeda as a long-term decision, it may be seen as a response to recent events, such as the April exploit involving a LayerZero-powered bridge used by Kelp DAO.
Despite some market volatility, Chainlink's native token $LINK has seen significant gains. It recently spiked above $10.60 before consolidating at those levels, with buyers still in control of the market according to technical indicators.
