NEAR Price Stagnant as Ecosystem Infrastructure Gains Momentum
The NEAR token has struggled to gain momentum in recent months, despite its ecosystem's progress. After peaking at $3.05 in early June, the token fell below $2.00 by late July, reflecting broader crypto market weakness.
However, data suggests that the network itself is moving in the opposite direction. NEAR Protocol has been building out its infrastructure, with most core components already in place by Q2 2026.
The protocol's dynamic resharding feature allows for automatic shard splitting and merging without governance intervention, bringing the network closer to fully elastic execution.
Upcoming upgrades, including SPICE, aim to further improve performance, with block times expected to reach 200ms, sub-second finality, and parallel execution. This design is intended to support AI-driven workloads requiring continuous settlement.
The NEAR ecosystem has also seen growth in privacy adoption, with Confidential Intents TVL exceeding $30 million during Q2. Distribution has expanded as well, with SimpleSwap integrating NEAR Intents across a platform serving 10 million users and over 2,800 assets.
