NEAR Protocol's NEAR token has been on a tear, gaining 10% in the last 24 hours and pushing its price closer to a major resistance level at $2.55.

The recent surge in trading volume, which rose by 67% to around $676 million within that same time frame, suggests strong buying pressure behind the move.

This momentum follows a breakout from a pennant consolidation formation, where NEAR had remained for several weeks before eventually breaking out and accelerating its upward move.

The token currently trades at around $2.45, just $0.10 below the target resistance level of $2.55.
