NEAR's Chain Abstraction Framework Simplifies Cross-Chain Transactions
Chain abstraction is a technical framework that aims to simplify interactions between different blockchains, making it easier for users and applications to execute cross-chain actions without having to switch wallets or hold native gas tokens.
Near Protocol has built its entire 2025-2026 roadmap around developing this infrastructure layer, which combines account aggregation, multichain signing, and an 'intents' model to enable seamless transactions across multiple chains.
The result is a web3 experience that looks and feels like a normal app, with the settlement happening on whichever chain offers the best outcome. This abstraction does not replace individual blockchains but wraps them in a unified interface layer so users no longer interact with them directly.
