NES Token Recovery Path Dependent on Exchange and Custody Venue
Holders of NES tokens face vastly different recovery outcomes depending on where their assets were stored when an exploit hit the Nesa network. Binance Alpha is applying a two-snapshot eligibility framework, while Kraken opted for a straightforward 1:1 migration to Ethereum.
The divergence means token holders could qualify for a swap, a refund, or nothing at all, depending on custody venue, blockchain network, and precise holding timestamps. For the roughly 700 million people across ASEAN who trade on venues like Tokocrypto, Indodax, and Coins.ph, determining which path applies has become the immediate priority.
Kraken's approach is simpler. The exchange confirmed NES would migrate 1:1 to a new contract on Ethereum, while NES funding on BNB Chain would remain disabled going forward. Meanwhile, Binance Alpha requires two snapshots to determine eligibility: one at August 24, 2026, and another at September 5, 2026.
