Neuner Flags Regulation as Hyperliquid's Biggest Risk
Crypto Banter founder Ran Neuner has identified regulation as Hyperliquid's key risk factor. According to him, governments have started regulating centralized exchanges and are likely to extend these rules to decentralized trading platforms next.
Neuner points out that regulatory frameworks for centralized venues are already taking shape, but the treatment of decentralized exchanges remains unclear, a gap that could significantly affect how Hyperliquid operates across jurisdictions.
He argues that even if a platform is technically 'decentralized', regulators may still seek to define responsibility, compliance expectations, or market access constraints. This uncertainty underscores a practical problem: competition can move fast, but compliance frameworks often lag behind.
Neuner also notes that Hyperliquid's network effects and liquidity advantages make it difficult for competitors to replicate its momentum. He compares this challenge to the broader tech market, where 'you can't copy a network' because users naturally flock to the busiest or best node.
