Nexus Acquires One Store to Complete Blockchain Gaming Platform
Nexus, a game developer founded in 2012, has acquired One Store to complete its full-stack blockchain gaming platform. According to Jang Hyun-guk, CEO of Nexus, distribution was the final missing piece. Major app marketplaces like Google Play and Apple's App Store restrict games featuring blockchain, NFTs, or integrated wallet features.
Nexus expects One Store to enable direct distribution of Web3 games with embedded wallets, tokens, and trading functionality. The plan involves leveraging One Store's operational track record and user base in South Korea to expand it into a global distribution platform for Web3 titles.
The company also plans to create a dedicated section on One Store for AI-generated games, which often struggle to navigate traditional app store registration and review processes. Nexus will launch 'One Play,' an exclusive distribution deal for Tencent mini-games, and 'One Shop,' integrating its global CROSS Shop with One Store's One WebShop.
