Ngrave has released firmware version 1.8 for its ZERO hardware wallet, bringing significant changes to how it communicates with users and supports tokens on various networks.

The update introduces a brand-new open-source Universal QR Protocol that replaces the older communication method used by the wallet.

This new protocol allows data to flow through a single, standardized QR code that anyone can inspect, making it easier for developers and security researchers to review and audit.

Ngrave has also added support for Polygon tokens, including USDC, USDT (specifically USDT0), WETH, WBTC, DAI, AAVE, LINK, and UNI, in addition to other assets like PAXG and AMP on Ethereum and MultiversX.
