NH Leaders Crack Down on Cryptocurrency Scam Targets
New Hampshire has become a target for cryptocurrency scammers, and state and local leaders are taking steps to protect residents. A press conference was held at the Manchester Police Department on Monday, where Governor Kelly Ayotte warned that fraudsters would not be tolerated in the state. According to Senate Bill 482, new protections will take effect in December.
Ken Heideman, a Nashua resident who fell victim to a crypto scam in 2022, spoke at the press conference about the growing threat of cryptocurrency ATM scams in New Hampshire. The event focused on raising awareness and educating residents on how to avoid falling prey to these scams.
