Nimiq Launches Second Mini Apps Competition for Developers
Nimiq has launched its second Mini Apps Competition cycle for developers, AI builders, and indie hackers. The four-week competition began on August 24th and offers $17,000 in prizes as part of a three-cycle competition with more than $50,000 in total prizes.
The competition allows participants to build open-source applications for Nimiq Pay using the Mini Apps Framework. This framework enables developers to create lightweight web applications that users can access through Nimiq Pay without having to launch them on separate platforms.
Nimiq Executive Director Max Burger described the model as an 'App Store moment' for crypto payments, saying it allows developers to bring extensions directly to users instead of keeping them in separate applications.
