Nine Straight Days of Buying: Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs See $477M Influx
Bitcoin and Ethereum spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) continued their remarkable streak of net inflows, adding a combined $477.3 million on August 27. This marks nine consecutive days of buying for both categories.
The influx of funds into Bitcoin ETFs reached $242.30 million, while Ethereum ETFs saw a $235 million increase in net inflows. The parallel streaks follow a period of heavy institutional investment, with BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust contributing significantly to the recent gains.
Bitcoin and Ether funds are moving in lockstep, suggesting that institutions are building positions across both assets rather than rotating between them. This trend is highlighted by the combined week's $2.3 billion in net inflows, which marks their biggest such run since October last year.
The sustained demand for ETFs can have a significant impact on cryptocurrency prices. As the available supply of coins on spot exchanges decreases, it can support price during accumulation phases. However, whether this trend continues remains to be seen, and Bitcoin's recent price gains will be crucial in determining the future of institutional investment.
