NK Hackers Target 1640 Firms in Global Crypto Heist
A cyber researcher has discovered that North Korean hackers infiltrated systems connected to 1,640 companies across 57 countries.
The primary targets were cryptocurrency wallets and blockchain infrastructure, with over 700 of the affected organizations suffering damaging intrusions.
Vangelis Stykas, chief technology officer at Kumio, spent 22 months accessing command and control systems used by the hackers.
He identified potential victims by examining developer credentials, source code, and other information stored inside the compromised systems.
