Nomura Backs ZIGChain Private Credit Initiative
Nomura's crypto subsidiary, Laser Digital, has invested in ZIGChain's $ZIG token and will structure and oversee risk for a pipeline of onchain private credit products. The investment is estimated to be in the high single-digit millions of dollars.
The goal is to help ZIGChain's product layer, ZIG Markets, build out institutional-grade private credit offerings with a target minimum of $100 million in total value locked.
Laser Digital will take on a structuring and risk oversight role for ZIGChain's private credit pipeline, which includes private credit, SME financing, invoice factoring, and stablecoin infrastructure. This deal puts one of Asia's most established financial institutions behind Layer 1 blockchain ZIGChain's push into tokenized lending.
ZIGChain has a history that dates back to its social trading platform roots in 2018, pivoting over the years to focus on real-world asset tokenization and institutional-grade financial products. The $ZIG token currently trades near $0.04 with a circulating supply of approximately 1.41 billion tokens.
