Norway's Sovereign Fund Grows Indirect Bitcoin Exposure to $725M
Norway's $2.4 trillion sovereign wealth fund, Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM), now carries indirect exposure to 11,549 Bitcoin.
This is a significant increase of 21.2% in the first half of 2026 and 60.5% over the past year, according to K33 Research.
The fund's Bitcoin exposure grew for the sixth consecutive period, with no direct purchases or spot ETFs involved.
NBIM built this allocation via public equities: companies that hold Bitcoin on their balance sheets.
This model of conservative institutional investment in crypto is worth studying as it reveals a low-risk approach to gaining exposure to Bitcoin.
