Norway's Sovereign Wealth Fund Doubles Down on Indirect Bitcoin Exposure
Norway's sovereign wealth fund has significantly increased its indirect exposure to Bitcoin. According to research from K33 Research, the fund holds approximately 11,549 BTC, a 60% year-over-year increase driven by its stake in Strategy (MSTR).
The majority of the fund's indirect Bitcoin holdings come from its position in Strategy, which has aggressively accumulated Bitcoin as its primary treasury reserve asset. As Strategy adds more Bitcoin to its treasury, the fund's indirect exposure grows accordingly.
The fund's increased exposure is also attributed to a new $82 million purchase of Bitmine (BMNR) stock, a Bitcoin mining company. This development highlights the trend of traditional institutional investors entering the digital asset space through equity markets, providing a regulated and familiar channel for gaining exposure.
