Norway's Sovereign Wealth Fund Hits Record $725M Indirect Exposure to Bitcoin
Norway's sovereign wealth fund has reached an all-time high of indirect exposure to Bitcoin, holding approximately 11,549 BTC worth around $725 million in the first half of 2026.
This significant increase highlights the growing presence of Bitcoin within traditional investment portfolios, even among major institutional investors who don't directly purchase the cryptocurrency.
The fund's Bitcoin exposure is primarily through investments in publicly traded companies with connections to the cryptocurrency market. Strategy, a company formerly known as MicroStrategy and now the world's largest publicly traded corporate Bitcoin holder, accounts for approximately 86% of Norway's indirect Bitcoin exposure, valued at around $622 million.
