Notabene Expands Role in Crypto Compliance with Taiwanese Regulatory Developments
RegTech firm Notabene has been expanding its role in crypto compliance and institutional stablecoin payments. The company highlighted new regulatory developments in Taiwan, where the government is phasing in enforcement of the crypto Travel Rule under Article 7 of its VASP AML/CFT framework.
The rules will mandate detailed originator and beneficiary information, including wallet data and enhanced identity checks above NT$30,000, increasing compliance requirements for virtual asset service providers. Notabene's Travel Rule and AML tooling are being positioned as infrastructure for VASPs navigating these tighter standards, with eight AML-registered VASPs already operating in Taiwan.
The company also showcased a native integration between its Notabene Flow platform and Chile-based Anyenk's digital-asset payment infrastructure. This setup embeds compliance workflows, Travel Rule data exchange, and invoice reconciliation directly into stablecoin-based cross-border payments, aiming to reduce friction for corporate users compared with traditional correspondent banking.
In a separate development, Notabene announced a collaboration with Utila to streamline institutional stablecoin authorization and execution. Institutions can route transfers through Notabene for counterparty verification and Travel Rule data exchange, after which Utila executes the on-chain payment only once approval is secured, unifying authorization and settlement into a single workflow.
