Notabene Launches Revert to Fill Crypto's Post-Settlement Gap
New infrastructure called Revert has been launched by Notabene to solve a major gap in the crypto market. According to Notabene, after a crypto transaction settles, there has never been a safe and standardized way to reverse or correct it, even when regulation requires it.
This is a problem that Notabene says affects institutions worldwide. They claim that until now, post-settlement workflows in crypto have been manual, fragmented, and high-risk. When a transaction moves between two institutions, there's no coordinated mechanism to return the funds, leaving institutions to rely on email, informal coordination, and unverified wallet addresses.
Revert is built on the Transaction Authorization Protocol (TAP) and enables institutions to initiate, authorize, and complete return-of-funds flows with verified wallet destinations and a full audit trail. The launch of Revert lands as return-of-funds obligations are tightening across jurisdictions.
