Novogratz Doubles Down on Bitcoin Amid Record-Breaking US Deficit
Novogratz Stays Bullish on Bitcoin Despite Massive US Deficits
The US government's alarming fiscal data is reinforcing Mike Novogratz's conviction that Bitcoin will continue to rise in value. In July, the government spent more than twice what it collected in revenue, a staggering figure of $432 billion deficit in a single month.
Novogratz, CEO of Galaxy Digital, attributes this unsustainable spending to an inability of governments to control their addiction to spending, which he believes is reflected in persistent inflation. He warns that the bond market will eventually force fiscal discipline, leading to a sovereign debt crisis scenario that benefits assets with limited supply, such as Bitcoin.
Novogratz's stance is based on his macro thesis that Bitcoin serves as a hedge against monetary debasement engineered by over-indebted governments. He emphasizes that this reading aligns with many macro analysts who closely monitor signals from the US bond market.
