NSA Abandons Opposition to CLARITY Act Amid Regulatory Progress

The National Sheriffs' Association (NSA) has announced it will no longer oppose the Digital Asset Market Clarity (CLARITY) Act, a cryptocurrency market structure bill. In a letter to Senate Majority Leader John Thune and Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, the NSA stated that it had changed its position on the bill to 'neutral'.

The NSA cited the significant work done by Congress, the Administration, and stakeholders in addressing the bill's complex issues.

The group previously expressed opposition to provisions exempting crypto mixers from registration requirements. However, the NSA now believes that stepping back will allow the legislative process to establish a clear regulatory framework.
