NSA Drops Opposition to Crypto Bill Ahead of Senate Vote
The National Sheriffs' Association (NSA) has withdrawn its opposition to the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, clearing the way for a Senate vote on the legislation later this month.
Originally, the NSA had expressed concerns that certain provisions in the bill would hinder law enforcement's ability to track illicit funds and recover money for victims. However, the association now claims it will allow the legislative process to unfold without further resistance.
The shift comes ahead of a procedural vote scheduled for September 15, when senators return from their August recess. The Digital Asset Market Clarity Act has faced repeated obstacles in the Senate, with both agriculture and banking committees advancing their own versions of the measure in 2026.
