Nu Digital Bank Enters U.S. Market with Multi-Currency Account
Nu Digital Bank has officially launched its U.S. services, offering deposit accounts, credit cards, and international transfers to American customers.
The company, behind Nubank in Latin America, is partnering with Lead Bank, an FDIC member, to provide banking services and the Nu Credit Card, which offers unlimited 1.5% cashback on purchases at launch.
Nu Global, a separate multi-currency digital account, converts every deposit into USDC or EURC stablecoins and supports transfers across more than 35 countries with no service fee.
The Nu U.S. operations are not yet authorized to operate independently, as Nubank, N.A., the company's national bank charter, still requires Federal Reserve and FDIC sign-off before it can begin operations on its own.
