Nu Global Taps Sygnum for Stablecoin Custody Amid Brazil's Tightening Crypto Rules
Nu Global, a multi-currency account launched by Nubank's parent company Nu Holdings, has partnered with Swiss digital asset bank Sygnum to provide custody and trading infrastructure.
The partnership allows Nu Global customers to hold and trade stablecoins and cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin and Ethereum, as well as transfer funds across more than 35 countries and earn yield on digital dollar (USDC) and digital euro (EURC) balances.
Sygnum supplies the custody, trading, and fiat-to-crypto conversion infrastructure behind Nu Global, which is offered through a Swiss entity under Nu Holdings. The partnership combines Nu's customer-centric approach with Sygnum's regulated banking infrastructure.
The launch coincides with Brazil's central bank tightening cross-border crypto rules, barring eFX providers from settling offshore transactions in stablecoins or other cryptocurrencies.
