Nvidia CEO Claims AGI Has Arrived with OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has claimed that artificial general intelligence (AGI) has arrived with OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra model. AGI refers to software capable of handling most human thinking tasks. Huang made this statement on Twitter, citing the model's training on over 100,000 NVIDIA Grace Blackwell NVLink72 chips.
According to Huang, the GPT-6 Astra model was trained using a massive setup of 72 chips in one box, connected as a single brain. This design change cost billions and was made with the goal of building something enormous. OpenAI's new model is that enormous project, which has seen 100,000 such boxes used to train it.
Nvidia has reported selling $89 billion worth of AI computers in just three months, more than double what they sold a year earlier. Huang attributed this success to the fact that 'compute is revenue.'
