Nvidia's CEO Jensen Huang has sparked controversy by declaring 'AGI has arrived' following OpenAI's launch of GPT-6 Astra, its most capable and aligned AI model yet. The model was trained on over 100,000 Nvidia GPUs and achieved exceptional results on various benchmarks, including FrontierMath Tier 4 (98%), ARC-AGI-3 (99.9%), and ExploitBench (100%).
Astra is designed to handle complex tasks with minimal human input and has demonstrated impressive capabilities in areas such as software engineering and cybersecurity. However, AI critic Gary Marcus has pushed back against Huang's claim, arguing that there is no universally accepted definition of AGI and that current systems have not crossed the line.
