Nvidia has formed an alliance of 37 companies to develop open tools and techniques for AI safety and cybersecurity, excluding OpenAI and Google. The coalition's core argument is that open-weight AI models are better for cybersecurity than black-box alternatives.

The alliance, called the Open Secure AI Alliance, includes Microsoft, IBM, CrowdStrike, and Cisco among others. Nvidia is contributing several resources to the effort, including open models and its Nvidia Labs Object-Oriented Agent framework.

The goal of the coalition is creating shared standards and defensive capabilities that any organization can customize and deploy, rather than depending on a handful of closed providers for AI-driven security.
